Embracing Visibility and Overcoming Fears
Today we're diving into the rollercoaster ride that has been my week.
We've had some exciting new enrollments in our Sales Mama School, and while I'm incredibly grateful and excited for these women, this influx has brought up a few unexpected challenges. Let's dive into the two major things that surfaced for me this week.
First up, money. As the enrollments rolled in, I found myself grappling with a surprising fear: the visibility of my earnings. In the past, my income from consulting gigs was a more private affair. Now, with a team witnessing the financial influx, I couldn't shake the feeling that they might think I'm just swimming in a pile of cash. The reality is, I've made substantial money before, but it's different when others see it happening. This week, I faced the daunting task of being visible about my success and confronting the fears of judgment that came with it.
The second challenge involves setting boundaries and ensuring respect for client confidentiality. As we grow, it's essential to have uncomfortable conversations about maintaining professional boundaries. Just like in a doctor's office, respecting client confidentiality is non-negotiable. I've had to reiterate this to my team, emphasizing that crossing these boundaries could lead to letting someone go. It's about maintaining trust and respect, which are the cornerstones of our client relationships.
On a personal note, I recently faced an unexpected dilemma with my taxes. After switching to a new tax person in Oregon, I discovered she was a lifelong friend of our ranch manager. This connection triggered fears about confidentiality and potential breaches. While I know logically that my fears are likely unfounded, they still surfaced, highlighting how deeply ingrained some of these concerns are.
Working Through Fears
Building a business brings up fears and anxieties, especially around visibility and success. It's crucial to address these fears head-on. I've learned to write down my worst-case scenarios to ease my mind and remind myself that, even though the abundance brings new challenges, it's essential to keep moving forward.
Another hurdle is feeling the need to justify my success. For instance, I've booked an interior designer to help organize our home, something I had planned before these recent enrollments. Yet, I found myself worried about judgment from others. It's a reminder that we deserve good things and that it's okay to invest in our well-being and happiness.
Ultimately, this journey isn't just about making money. It's about changing how we work and live. We are part of a revolution, challenging the traditional 40-hour workweek and striving for a life of balance and fulfillment. This mission drives me, despite the challenges, because I believe in the ripple effect it can create.
So, Sales Mamas, I want to leave you with this: even though fears and doubts arise, we are all worthy of success and good things. Whether it's financial abundance, time freedom, or personal joy, we deserve it all. Let's challenge our fears, support each other, and be the change we want to see in the world.
Remember, you're not alone in this journey. Let's talk through our fears and rise together. You are worthy. I am worthy. We are all worthy of great things. Let's embrace it and continue to make a difference.
Keep pushing forward, Sales Mamas. We've got this!
